The Bladensburg Fire District is looking for members in the Clay, Jackson township areas within Knox County, or anyone within eight miles of either station that are wishing to volunteer as a firefighter and/or emergency medical provider or a junior firefighter (15 to 18 and still in school). Drive a resident to weekly classes at C-tec or Heartbeats and babysit for 2-3 hours while the resident attends classes. Requires a valid driver's license, insurance, and a background check.

Serve as a role model, teacher, advisor, counselor, and advocate to young women in the home. Assist with skills such as budgeting, parenting, time management, cooking, and baking. Requires a sincere desire to be a positive example.

Perform indoor and outdoor maintenance and repairs at the maternity home. Requires completion of volunteer paperwork and a background check.
