We are looking for individuals to join our department and become volunteer firefighters. We run between 20-30 calls a month, majority of those calls being motor vehicle collisions followed by grass fires and then EMS assist. Our department offers reimbursement for shift coverage and calls made. Assist in distributing flat-bottomed 2700 Kelvin LED bulbs and motion detecting bulbs to individuals and businesses in Blanco County to help reduce light pollution. Volunteers are needed to manage this program in North and South Blanco County.

Assist in organizing and distributing clothing to families in need. Volunteers will help manage the clothes closet and ensure items are available and accessible.

Prepare hot lunches for events or weekly food distribution. Volunteers will help ensure that meals are ready for distribution to families in need.

Participate in food distribution efforts to provide meals to local families. Volunteers will help with the organization and delivery of food supplies.

Assist in teaching reading, writing, and math to children and adults. Volunteers will work directly with minors and must complete a child safety course, background check, and registration form.

Lead sewing, art, and cooking classes for adults and children. Volunteers will share their skills and creativity to help participants learn new crafts and techniques.

Assist in delivering educational programs that benefit school children, people with mental and physical challenges, and veterinary students. Volunteers will help nurture the human-animal bond and promote species conservation.

Support various park events by assisting with setup, coordination, and visitor engagement. Volunteers will help ensure events run smoothly and provide a welcoming atmosphere for attendees.

Lead guided hikes for the public in the Honey Creek State Natural Area, sharing knowledge about the area's natural features and history. Volunteers will engage with visitors to enhance their outdoor experience.

Assist in the banding of birds to help track and study bird populations within the park. Volunteers will work with experienced bird banders to safely capture, band, and release birds.

Help maintain and repair bird blinds throughout the park to ensure they are safe and functional for visitors. Tasks may include cleaning, repairing structures, and ensuring proper signage.

Work at the Discovery Center to provide interpretive experiences for visitors of all ages, helping them learn about the park's natural and cultural resources.

Deliver educational presentations to children and adults about the park's natural resources and conservation efforts. Volunteers will engage with school groups and the general public to promote environmental awareness.

Assist in the maintenance and beautification of garden patches around the park, including planting and caring for native plants. Volunteers will work to enhance the park's natural aesthetics.

Assist in maintaining and improving the park's trails to ensure they are safe and accessible for visitors. Tasks include clearing debris, repairing trail surfaces, and installing signage.

Conduct various research surveys of butterflies, birds, and amphibians to help gather data on the park's wildlife. Volunteers will work with park staff to collect and record observations.
