Join the Sanctuary on the Green Arts, Cultural & Community Alliance as a volunteer to help preserve and revitalize the historic Sanctuary on the Green. Volunteers will contribute to local history preservation, artistic expression advancement, and community fostering in Bloomfield.

Mentors will engage with male adolescents to encourage positive choices, promote high self-esteem, and support academic achievement. Mentors come from diverse backgrounds and are expected to have a desire to lead and positively influence young lives.

Assist in organizing and running monthly free food distribution events with live music. Volunteers will liaise for food donations, park reservations, and musicians, as well as help with setup, replenishment, and takedown of tables.

Volunteers will assist in collecting and distributing free menstrual products. Tasks include receiving product donations, packing and labeling product bags, and delivering products to distribution points around town.

Assist in planning periodic Freeshop events to distribute donated items for free to community members. Tasks include organizing the event and coordinating storytelling about cooking, food, and family kitchen traditions.

Collect and distribute free air conditioners during summer. Volunteers will assist with social media posting, logistics, AC pickups, cleaning, testing, and dropoffs.

Participate in weekly hands-on gardening at Montclair sites, helping to grow vegetables and distribute food. This is a learning opportunity about gardening and nutrition, fostering self-sufficiency and community relationships.

Help with publicity campaigns to get the word out to Montclair-area people. Tasks include writing, editing, graphic design, public relations, and social media posting.

Regularly check and restock free food pantry kiosks from donated inventory. These kiosks are open to all, 24x7, and located in multiple neighborhood locations.

Assist with running Montclair Mutual Aid's Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok presence, as well as their website. Tasks include creating posts and responding to inquiries and comments.

Help individuals raise cash from the community for urgent needs. Volunteers will act as recipient liaisons and assist with social media fundraiser graphic design and posting.

Connect people for flood cleanup equipment borrow/lend. Volunteers will assist with social media posting, contacts liaison, arrangements, and logistics.

Assist with writing and editing for the MtcMA newsletter and blog. Tasks include graphic design, social media posting, and email list management.

Assist with occasional or regular pickup/dropoff errands in the Montclair area for people who can't get out. This role helps build neighbor relationships and community goodwill.

Help with the creation and distribution of promotional materials and press releases for various events and programs. Volunteers will work closely with the communications team to enhance the visibility of Indie Arts Montclair's initiatives.

Assist in the planning and execution of the Montclair Zine Fest, including tasks such as event setup, artist coordination, and attendee assistance. Volunteers will play a key role in promoting and supporting local zine creators.

Assist in the planning and coordination of various events hosted by Indie Arts Montclair. This role involves working with a team to develop event concepts, logistics, and execution plans.

Provide on-site support during events, including setup, attendee assistance, and breakdown. Volunteers will ensure events are welcoming and run smoothly, contributing to a positive experience for all participants.

Participate in organizing and supporting the Make Music Day event, which involves coordinating with local artists and musicians. Volunteers will help with event setup, promotion, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.

Help weed, mulch, and maintain Brookdale Park’s Pollinator Garden. Volunteers meet at 9 am every Tuesday, weather permitting. This project supports native plants and wildlife.
