Blooming Grove Vol Fire Dept
Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department is looking for students (Enrolled or recent graduates) interested in becoming a state certified TCFP / SFFMA firefighter or EMT. Openings also exist for volunteer firefighter, emergency medical responder or both. The programs allows for career seeking individuals to participate in training and incident responses in order to obtain hands on experience to prepare them for a career. Once qualified as a member the department will provide all necessary training, protective equipment and alerting devices to the member at no cost to them. Blooming Grove Fire Department is an all hazards department, meaning we responding to all fire, medical, rescue, hazmat and industrial incidents. We also participate in all aspects of community relations and public education. Please note, This is a hands on internship not a ride along. Program participants will be assisting in firefighting and medical operations as a crew member on the assigned apparatus. https://www.facebook.com/BGVFD/ | Requirements: Enrolled student or recent graduate from any Texas fire academy, EMT or Paramedic school. Who have a valid class C (or grater) Texas drivers license. Applicants must also pass a TxDPS background check, Drug screen and physical prior to employment. BGVFD members incur no out of pocket cost after the application process. Following orientation applicants who do not live within the BGVFD fire district are required to staff a minimum of 24hrs, Consisting of 4, 8 or 12 hour shifts scheduled by them and complete a minimum of 8hrs training monthly. The Retreat Volunteer Fire Department provides training for its members, to include: Firefighter classes, First Aid and CPR. Please realize you must have extra time in your schedule for emergency responses, training, and department functions. We mention this so you can take this into consideration before making a decision about joining our Department. Balancing family, work, other obligations, and recreation, while still providing time for our Department can sometimes be challenging, however rewarding, as well. This should give you a brief idea of what we are all about at the Retreat Volunteer Fire Department. Again, thank you for expressing interest in our department.
