To become a Firefighter with the Dayton Fire Department we need able bodies, willing minds and a whole lot of heart! Firefighter duties include but are not limited to: Structural fire response Field/grass fire response Accident scene response Assisting medical response Station and Equipment Maintenance Membership Process: Interview with Chief(s) Fill out application Attend Business Meeting – Group Introductions, Department Voting 6mo probationary period. Expectations: Attend scheduled business meeting 1st Tuesday of the Month. Volunteers will serve an important role at the Jester Park Nature Center welcoming visitors into their outdoor adventure at Jester Park.

Ensure maintenance and care for native plantings throughout Polk County parks. Provide a learning space for volunteers to gain knowledge and insight about gardening with native plants. Share resources and create a community of native plants enthusiasts. Encourage native gardens at home and throughout our community.
