We are a highly trained organization that provides fire suppression, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response (operations level) and specialized rescue services. In addition, we provide extrication response for 3 neighboring towns in addition to Thetford and a variety of mutual aid services such as Firefighter rehab and medical monitoring, technical rescue and wilderness response. Washington Volunteer Fire Department
The Washington Fire Department and FAST Squad are looking for members to fill the roles of Firefighter or EMT. The all-volunteer department covers primary response to The Town of Washington and a portion of the Town of Orange, along with mutual aid responses to neighboring towns. The Department provides fire, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and rescue services. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad with patient transport provided by Barre Town EMS or First Branch Ambulance (Chelsea). The Washington Fire Department averages 50 calls annually, and FAST Squad averages 125 responses. | Requirements: No previous firefighting or EMS experience is required. We will train in house but encourage members to become certified in Firefighter 1 or National EMT. Must be available for fire training and meetings on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm at the Washington Fire Station. The members of the department are volunteers who live in Norwich and surrounding communities. They selflessly give their time and energy to the department as service to their community. The Fire Division has approximately 20 members, some of whom are EMTs that work in the EMS Division. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad and the Hanover Fire Department Ambulance. We are looking for new members to serve in either our Fire or Medical (FAST Squad) divisions. No experience necessary. The Norwich Fire Department is a paid on call (POC) department consisting of a part-time fire chief and approximately 29 POC members. The fire division has approximately 24 members, some of whom are EMTs that work in the EMS Division. The Department provides fire, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response (operations level) and rescue services. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad and the Hanover Fire Department ambulance. The Fast Squad has 20 members (7 perform EMS duties only) trained at or above the EMT-Basic level. | Requirements: NFD members are part-time employees of the Town of Norwich. Barnet Fire & Rescue
Volunteer Category: Firefighter, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Barnet Fire & Rescue (BFR) is seeking individuals who are interested in making a difference in their community. We are looking for volunteers to fill the positions of Firefighters, EMR,s and EMT's. BRF serves the Town of Barnet VT, which includes the villages of: Passumpsic, East Barnet, Barnet, McIndoe Falls, and West Barnet. In addition we are members of the Twin State Mutual Aid Fire Association which provides mutual aid service to 25 departments on the Vt and NH border. BFR operates out of one station with 4 pieces of apparatus and responds to approximately 150 incidents per year with medical and motor vehicle accidents making up the majority of responses. Volunteers receive an annual stipend from the Town of Barnet for actual time spent on responses. The Town of Barnet also provides for Workers Compensation Insurance and a supplemental Accident and Sickness policy that covers all department activities. | Requirements: No previous experience required. Training will be provided by Barnet Fire & Rescue Be a resident of the Town of Barnet VT. A resident of an adjacent town may be considered on an individual basis.
