We Need You! Don't delay, join today! We are always looking for volunteer Firefighters. The junior Firefighter program begins at 14 years of age, with 16 being able to ride. When am I on duty? Our members are required to attend Monday nights, as well as respond from home for calls when they are available. We are working on implementing duty crews, which would allow for more ride time as well as opportunities to attend calls and drills. We have facilities for studying, relaxing, and cooking when not on calls. Do I get paid? Currently, volunteers do not get paid, but are offered a LOSAP program which allows for a retirement plan to be saved up on, a year to year basis. What Training will I receive? All new members will receive an orientation and a initial recruit training, and then when signed off on, they will be sent to the Fire Academy. EMT is optional. Training courses are available during the evening hours and on weekends. All tuition, equipment, and safety gear is provided by the department. Required training for a firefighter consists of approximately 125 hours of basic firefighting techniques including; fire behavior, rescue, salvage, overhaul, ladder practices, ventilation, firefighting tactics, water supply and more. Required training for an Emergency Medical Technician consists of a 240 hour state certification course which includes ambulance operations, CPR, bandaging, splinting, oxygen delivery, patient assessment, and more. These classes are usually held two nights during the week over a four month period. Assist in transporting dogs from high kill shelters to safe locations. Volunteers will help in ensuring the safe and timely arrival of dogs to their new homes or foster families.

Help unload and clean the transport rig upon arrival on Sunday mornings in South Jersey. Volunteers will assist in handing off animals to rescue groups and dismantling, cleaning, and disinfecting crates and trailers.

Assist in loading supplies for transport to Tennessee, including lining crates with training pads and blankets, and placing water bowls in each crate. This ensures a quick unloading process at our stops.

Participate in various events and craft shows to share the organization's story and sell items to benefit their efforts. Volunteers help with event setup and customer interaction.

Provide support at adoption events by assisting with setup, engaging with potential adopters, and ensuring a smooth operation throughout the event.

Help promote MatchDog Rescue's mission by creating engaging content and capturing photos of dogs for adoption. Volunteers will assist in marketing efforts to increase visibility and support for the organization.

Assist with the 'Wag Through the Pines' event, a 1-mile walk and 5-mile walk/run with pets. Volunteers help with event setup, registration, and coordination at Hospitality Creek Campground.

Help organize and facilitate kids fishing tournaments. Duties include setting up equipment, assisting participants, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Assist in supervising and guiding children during educational field trips. Ensure the safety and engagement of participants while providing support to staff and other volunteers.
