Running close to 700 fire calls (NON-EMS) in 2016 WWHC #2 is looking for candidates to continue this tradition of excellence. Eligible applicants must be 21 years or older; have a valid Connecticut driver’s license: CDK Certifications are a plus; must be able to successfully complete a department mandated physical. Applicants who are accepted must be willing to devote time to training, fire calls, fundraising, community relations events, monthly meetings, and called drills. Successful candidates shall serve a probationary period of twelve (12) months beyond successful graduation from the Connecticut State Fire Fighter I course is strongly encouraged. Our Ambulances are equipped with LifePak15 Cardiac Monitors, Zoll Z-Ventilators, LUCAS 3 CPR Devices, Stryker PowerPro 2 Stretchers and PowerLoad Systems. Some of our certified members are outfitted with a complete set of First Responder Equipment for their personal vehicles; including Automatic External Defibrillators, Portable Oxygen, and Trauma Kits in addition to ANSI Certified Turnout Gear and Motorola Portable Radios.
