At the BVFC we look for men and women of all ages and ethnic groups looking to better them selves and their community. Through personal experience in firefighting or ems not only looks good for future jobs or schooling it can open many doors throughout your experience! The BVFC serves approximately 5000 residents and visitors to the Brookville Pa area, Covers about 2 miles of Interstate 80 in the primary coverage area and assists another station with another 20 miles of Interstate 80. BVFC also provides water rescue services to the county of Jefferson and hazardous materials containment. And if your interested in medical the BVFC offers QRS or Quick Response Services to the community with its EMT's and EMR's. And while running an average of 300 emergency calls a year the BVFC also provides many social events to the residents of the area. | Requirements: Be at least 14 years of age to join as a Junior member and 18 to be an active firefighter, have no criminal record, have a current PA state drivers license and be 18 to drive and operate the apparatus. The Volunteer Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. They perform within the scope of the policies and procedures of the Brockway Volunterr Hose Company and they perform duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, rescue, hazardous material responses, training, building inspections and public education.
