Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department is a full-service department. We participate in active fire suppression of both residential and commercial properties as well as provide mutual aid to surrounding areas. We primarily do water shuttles for water supply as we have limited hydrants. We provide multiple specialty rescue services including vehicle extrication, water rescue, swift water rescue, dive rescue, rescue task force response and off road/ snowmobile rescue. Due to our unique location, we must utilize aeromedical transportation for major incidents. In addition, we operate a medical first responder unit 24/7 through volunteers. We encourage all our firefighters to obtain EMR or EMT licensure but is not required. Indian Lake Fire provides all funding needed to become a firefighter or EMR/EMT. ILVFD also actively participates in the community, hosting events and providing fire prevention. We love to teach children about safety and the dangers of fire and when and how to use 911. There are also several department functions that we host including multiple pancake breakfasts, summer get together and Christmas appreciation dinner. We pride ourselves in our station, equipment, and our fire family! | Requirements: Must be 18 years or older at time of employment and have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must possess, a valid unrestricted Driver License with less than 6 points on their license. No felony or disqualifying criminal convictions.
