Visit cats at the Waynesville Petsmart adoption center to provide socialization and playtime. Includes basic cleanup and providing fresh food and water.

Create and share social media content across Facebook and Instagram, requiring 5+ posts per week.

Write short stories about rescues to share with the social community, pulling content from a gallery of pictures.

Provide short-term accommodations for cats and kittens in need by allowing them to seek shelter in your home. All supplies and vet care are provided, and you simply provide food, fresh water, love, and attention.

Transport cats from Waynesville to the ASPCA and back. Requires a commitment of at least 2 transports per month.

Pick up boxes of chicken thighs from Asheville and Greenville and transport them to Waynesville for cat food processing.

Assist with monthly adoption events by setting up, tearing down, and helping during events by answering questions and guiding people through the adoption process.

Contribute artistic talents such as painting, music, writing, or healing to enhance the sanctuary's mission. Open to artists of all kinds who wish to support the sanctuary's goals.

Participate in deep cleaning, watering, sorting produce, socializing, and various farm projects. Open to individuals or groups, with specific age requirements for working with animals.

A weekly commitment to a scheduled day for a morning or evening shift, involving tasks such as feeding, watering, cleaning, and socializing with animals. Volunteers will receive training until they are comfortable performing tasks independently.

Pickup food donations from Whole Foods on Merrimon Avenue in Asheville and deliver them to the sanctuary. Pickup is usually scheduled for Sunday mornings.

Assist in cleaning enclosures, feeding birds of prey, and providing enrichment activities. Volunteers will also help with medical procedures, landscaping, and general maintenance tasks.

We are looking for motivated individuals that want to give back and serve their community. We find that most people don't even know they can volunteer at their local fire department. Depending on your capabilities there is a broad range of tasks that we can always use assistance with. Maybe firefighting isn't your thing.. then we can get you certified to respond to medical calls within the community, or you can serve as a support role for our active fire fighters, bringing us water and relief when we are on extended calls. There are so many opportunities to serve within our fire department, and the training you will receive is rewarding and very useful even in your day to day life. Participate in a citizen science program to document landslide impacts on roads and trails in public lands following Hurricane Helene. Volunteers will use smartphones to collect data, which will be shared with land stewardship agencies.

Provide capable hands in the camp kitchen during specified dates. Volunteers will assist with meal preparation and kitchen duties to support the camp's operations.

Support the Craft Club by helping participants with various crafting projects, encouraging creativity and social interaction. Volunteers will assist in preparing materials and guiding activities.
