The Myrtle Springs Volunteer Fire Department is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Volunteer Firefighters. As a Volunteer Firefighter, you will play a critical role in protecting lives and property within our community. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are passionate about public service and have a strong desire to make a positive impact. Responsibilities: 1. Respond to emergency calls: Volunteer Firefighters will be responsible for promptly responding to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, accidents, and other incidents, as dispatched by the department. 2. Perform firefighting duties: Volunteer Firefighters will be required to perform various firefighting duties, including but not limited to, fire suppression, search and rescue, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul. 3. Provide medical assistance: Volunteer Firefighters will be expected to provide basic medical assistance, such as first aid and CPR, until advanced medical personnel arrive on the scene. 4. Maintain and operate equipment: Volunteer Firefighters will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and operating firefighting equipment, vehicles, and tools in accordance with department policies and procedures. 5. Participate in training and drills: Volunteer Firefighters will be required to attend and actively participate in regular training sessions and drills to maintain and improve their skills, knowledge, and readiness. 6. Assist with community outreach: Volunteer Firefighters will have the opportunity to engage in community outreach activities, including fire prevention education programs, public awareness campaigns, and community events. 7. Driver's license: Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record. 5. Education and certifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Commitment: Volunteer Firefighters are expected to make a commitment to serve the Myrtle Springs Volunteer Fire Department for a specified period of time, attending regular training sessions and actively participating in department activities. 7. Transporters help by driving cats to new rescues, vet visits, and delivering supplies across 13 counties. This role is ideal for those who enjoy traveling and want to help save cats from overpopulation.

Volunteers with a creative streak are needed to plan and execute fundraising events to support Catty Shack's mission. This role is crucial for raising the funds necessary to continue rescue operations.

Foster parents provide temporary homes for cats in need, helping to save them from euthanasia. Catty Shack covers vet care and often provides food, litter, and other supplies through donations.

Help with farm chores including cleaning pig living areas, changing water, and making repairs. Volunteers will receive training and must be 18 or older.

Join us to provide affection and attention to our rescue piggies. Volunteers will complete a tour and orientation on pig behaviors and interaction. No experience required, just a love for pigs.
