Interested applicants must complete a questionnaire and provide a copy of a valid NJ driver's license, followed by a back ground check and drug screen. Once successfully completing those checks, a meeting is held with an investigating committee followed by a physical exam required by the New Jersey Firemen's Association. The entire process takes approximately 3-4 months to complete. Upon swearing in members must complete in house training followed by an approved Firefighter 1 program at a certified training academy (Approx. 270 hours).
