Groton Township Fire Department is looking for volunteers to serve the community in the delivery of fire/Ems services that include structure fires, vehicle accidents, Haz-Mat incidents, rescues related to water, farm operations etc., we do not transport patients however we do respond with a 3rd party ALS service to provide emergency medical care for ambulance related calls, not only to Groton Township but also Oxford Township. This position is a volunteer firefighter with Milan Township Fire Department. We have two stations and require all candidates to live within a five mile radius from one of the two stations. Our department pays for training and calls. Our minimum requirement is become certified as a volunteer firefighter within one year of employment. We have top notch equipment and great leadership to welcome anyone who wants to join. Presently we have two openings. We are a paid per call volunteer department, with paid trainings (monthly). Assist in organizing and distributing Christmas gifts and resources to children affected by the opioid epidemic. Volunteers will help with gift wrapping, sorting, and event coordination.

As a mentor, you will meet with your mentee regularly for at least six months, providing guidance and support. You will also participate in group activities to foster community and friendship among participants.
