Volunteers assist with dog walking, cat socialization, grooming, bathing, cleaning kennels, and laundry. They also help with adoption events and special events. Orientation is required before starting.

Volunteers will place phone calls to families of homicide victims to check in on their healing and mental state, and inform them of upcoming Impact Violence programs and events. Volunteers should be empathetic and have strong interpersonal skills.

Assist in the training of service dogs to perform tasks such as nightmare interruption, anxiety and panic interruption, and deep pressure therapy. Volunteers will work closely with trainers to ensure dogs are prepared to support veterans with PTSD.

Volunteers needed to serve the community. Volunteer Fire Fighters do a lot more then just fight fires. We are there to support the community in any way we can. Some ways we serve: house fires, grass fires, vehicle accidents, medical care, gas leaks, missing persons, community awareness, student education, community service, and community celebrations. Participate in criminology research and legal advocacy to protect civil rights. Work on understanding criminal behavior and improving crime prevention and rehabilitation.

Help organize and conduct fundraising activities such as bake sales, car washes, and bar-b-que plate fundraisers to support the equine refuge. Volunteers are encouraged to bring creative ideas to raise funds.

Assist in building and maintaining stables and fences to ensure a safe environment for the equines. Volunteers work on various construction and repair projects as needed.

Assist with the daily care of horses and donkeys, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning stalls. Volunteers are part of a family-like environment and contribute to the well-being of the equines.

Distribute food directly to the community at small-scale drive-through food distributions hosted at the San Antonio Food Bank. This opportunity is for individuals and groups of up to 30 volunteers, with youth volunteers needing to be at least 15 years of age and accompanied by an adult.

Prepare and serve meals for residents at Haven for Hope. This opportunity takes place onsite at Haven for Hope and is open to individuals and groups of up to 20 volunteers. Youth volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers are needed to cook meals, provide transportation, help with renovations, teach English or other skills, and be mentors to young men at the shelter. Your time and effort will help keep these individuals on the right path.
