Antioch Volunteer Fire Department covers the southwestern corner of Harris County, Georgia. Our response district covers 125 square miles including 11 miles of interstate and 18 miles of shore line. There are approximately 2,000 homes and 6 light industrial areas in the district. The department is 100 percent volunteer and operates out of 6 stations. The department currently holds an 4.0 ISO rating. The department answered 175 calls last year consisting of First Responder (EMS for additional help to county paid ambulance service) and fire. The Antioch Volunteer Fire needs you to serve in a fire fighter role or support role. | Requirements: You must be 18 years of age, a US Citizen to become a member and live within Harris County. As a Northwest Harris Volunteer Firefighter you will serve the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. You will be expected to perform within the scope of the policies and procedures of the Northwest Harris VFD and you will perform duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, training, building inspections and public education. Here at Northwest Harris VFD our Volunteer Firefighters normally work under the supervision of a company officer and you will be expected to function effectively as part of a highly trained team. You will also be expected to perform your duties under adverse conditions and physical conditions that may pose a high risk of personal injury or exposure to hazardous conditions or infectious diseases. As a Northwest Harris Volunteer FF you will be required to attend 4, 2 hour, regularly scheduled training classes in order to maintain the high level of knowledge, skill and ability necessary to function safely and effectively as a Firefighter and First Responder EMS provider in accordance with state law, county protocols, and standard operating procedures. The work performance of all Volunteer firefighters is continuously evaluated for general knowledge, skill proficiency, and ability to work as part of a team. | Requirements: As a Basic Volunteer Firefighter, You will attend the Basic Volunteer Firefighter with Live Fire course( 95 training hours) your first year. Foster families provide a safe, loving, temporary home for surrendered Vizslas, caring for them as their own. Responsibilities include feeding, housing, exercising, and training the dogs, as well as assessing their personalities to help find the best permanent homes.

Volunteers are needed to organize and manage fundraising events such as 5k runs, bake sales, and dinners to support Airsong's Angels. This role is essential for raising funds to continue the organization's mission.

Volunteers conduct 60-90 minute phone interviews with prospective adoptive or foster families, providing feedback to assist in placement decisions. Training is provided for this role.

Home interviewers visit potential adopters in Georgia and neighboring states to evaluate the home environment for safety and suitability for a Vizsla. Training is provided for this role.

Assist with various sports events and activities organized by the Columbus Sports Council. Responsibilities may include event setup, registration, and providing information to participants and attendees.

Volunteers support Artahoochee's classes, workshops, and performances by providing assistance with mural tours, event help, committees, administrative tasks, and project cleanup. Volunteers gain access to Artahoochee events and become part of a creative community.
