Riverside Fire Authority accepts applications for individuals interested in volunteering - year-round. Volunteer FF/EMT Duties include Fire Suppression and Prevention activities. EMS service - respond to calls for service. We provide basic Firefighter training through an in-house academy with opportunity for FF1 and FF2 certification, as well as mandatory continuing education. Academy is conducted two times annually. Non-Combat Fire Corp volunteer membership duties include prevention activities, fire incident and department support functions, and EMS. Training is provided. EMS only FireCorp must have DOT physical with respirator assessment and complete an EMS physical ability analysis. Lewis County Fire District 5 continually seeks applicants for Volunteer Firefighter and/or EMT positions. Successful applicants will perform duties of a Volunteer Firefighter and/or EMT in responding to emergencies in our 65 square mile response area. Our Fire District is predominantly volunteer; the community depends very heavily on our well trained volunteer staff of emergency personnel. Being a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT carries with it many benefits which are fully funded by the Fire District without any cost to you as a volunteer. They include: • Training courses, training supplies • Equipment and uniforms • On duty accident and disability insurance • Volunteer firefighter’s pension program • Nominal fee reimbursements for duty shifts • Fully funded membership in the District’s Volunteer Firefighters’ Association. Membership offers many benefits including social and community service events. | Requirements: Must be a Washington State Certified EMT-B or obtain certification within one year of hire. - Lateral applicants must have at least one year of documented Fire/EMS agency experience. - Must agree to provide a designated number of scheduled duty shift hours. West Thurston Regl Fire Authority
As a volunteer firefighter/EMT, responsibilities include transporting patients to the hospital and performing Basic Life Support services. Duties also encompass fire suppression and prevention, operating both power and manual tools, and driving as well as operating various Fire/EMS apparatuses such as aid units, fire engines, support units, and water tenders. The role involves performing a wide range of rescue services, continuing training to maintain necessary certifications, and ensuring the upkeep of facilities and equipment. Additionally, participation in public education events and community outreach is an essential part of engaging with and supporting the community. | Requirements: Volunteer FF/EMT's are required to obtain/ maintain Firefighter 1, Hazmat Operations, Hazmat Awareness, and EMT-B level certifications to work as a Firefighter/EMT. All training and equipment are provided. Volunteers are not required to obtain these certifications prior to applying. Fire Academy is currently offered once a year in the fall and EMT class is held twice a year, sponsorship for academies is offered to active members. Sign-up for these classes are approximately every January (Spring class) and July (Fall class). Classes are 3-4 months in length and usually consisted of 2 evenings and 1 weekend day. To maintain status as a recruit in academy students must maintain an 80% average while attending all classes and skills weekends. Missing classes or dropping below 80% will result in failing the academies. Our policy requires that you have a good driving record, pass a criminal background check and complete a physical ability test. If you feel you meet the standards, please complete the application and return them to us. The driving record and criminal background check will be conducted after acceptance to West Thurston Regional Fire Authority. Upon completion and passing of the written test and physical agility as well as completion of the oral interview and have been accepted as volunteer, you will be asked to get a NFPA physical exam (we will give you the proper forms upon successful completion of testing.) At this time, you also be provided with the necessary paperwork for passing a driving record and criminal background check. | Categories: EMT, Firefighter
