Chadwick Fire Protection District is continually looking for high quality volunteer firefighters. Firefighters in our district fight structure fires, provide medical first response, respond to motor vehicle collisions on the road and trail), fight wildland fires and go on search and rescue missions. Our district is 116 square miles, including 40,000 acres of the Mark Twain National forest, where we regularly rescue lost and injured cyclists in the Chadwick Motorcycle area, and assist the US Forestry service with wildland fires. We are available for state-wide mutual aid, particularly for wilderness search and rescue. | Requirements: Applicants must be 18+ years old and be physically capable of performing arduous physical tasks. Must be able to follow directions and keep a level head in stressful emergency situations. Must be able to read and write. Must be able to use a radio communication. Must be able to pass a background check. New firefighters are required to complete Basic Firefighter skills and Emergency Medical Responder within one year, along with HazMat awareness and ICS 100. Western Taney County Fire District
Western Taney County Fire Protection District - located near Branson, Missouri - is a combination department with over 100 volunteers that respond to almost 3000 emergencies each year. Western Taney County Fire volunteers respond to these 911 calls with brush trucks, engines, tankers, rescues, and other specialty apparatus (boats, aerial apparatus, etc.) that are needed for firefighting, EMS, car crashes, water rescues, and numerous other requests for assistance. Along with the traditional volunteer firefighter model (the firefighter responds from home), Western Taney County Fire also offers a resident firefighter program where some firefighters can live full time in the fire station. There are different living quarters available through this program. For single firefighters we have dorm style rooms with a common area, and for married firefighters we have apartment style accommodations available. Reach out to us for information on available rooms and the requirements for being a resident. Western Taney County Fire places a high priority on training and education, and we provide training to our members every week. Thursday nights are when we get together to train, check our equipment, and build relationships. Our members are taught firefighter safety and survival, how to drive the fire apparatus, how to provide medical care to the sick and injured, and other first responder skills. | Requirements: You must be 18 years old to be a volunteer firefighter with our organization. We would require the volunteer to let us know how they can help and then fill that need. Drivers, support, or just medical first response can be areas a volunteer could help.
