The Monroe Township Fire Department, established in 1949 is a volunteer organization committed to serving the citizens of Henryville and Underwood of Monroe Township in northern Clark County, Indiana. We provide fire suppression, vehicle rescue, EMT/First-Responder services, swift water rescue, and rope rescue. Additionally, we serve the community by hosting events, participating in fire prevention and youth education, school tours and demonstrations, boy scout tours and demonstrations, and we are available 24/7 to assist our citizens in any way possible. | Requirements: Thank you for your interest in volunteering to serve your community. Provide a temporary home for Bengal cats in need of care until they are adopted. Volunteers will be responsible for daily care, feeding, and socialization of the cats.

Assist in transporting Bengal cats to their new homes or foster families across the Great Lakes region. Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring the safe and comfortable travel of the cats.

Assist in maintaining the Paintbox Garden, a vibrant oasis of color inspired by Color Theory. Volunteers will help with planting, succession planting, and ensuring blooms from Spring to Autumn, while also supporting pollinator-friendly practices.

Perform home checks of potential adopters going through the application process to ensure Pugs are going to good forever homes. Make recommendations based on observations during the visit.

Assist with preparing mailings, writing thank you notes, making phone calls to prospective adopters, sending emails, and keeping others informed of activities. May also include working on the website or monitoring the blog.

Help organize events to raise funds, educate the public on adopting, and the importance of spay/neuter. Responsibilities include planning, setting up, finding venues, and assisting with donations for raffle baskets.

Assist in obtaining funding needed to support the rescue by soliciting donations from individuals and corporations, and using creativity to come up with new ideas for raising funds.

Spend a purposeful day at the waterfront with your peers. This opportunity is ideal for companies or schools interested in a group volunteer experience to support the park.

Help keep the waterfront free of litter and assist with planting, weeding, and caring for the park’s green spaces. Volunteers are essential in maintaining the park's beauty and sustainability.

Scarf and Story Drives help maintain Hope Scarves' collection. Volunteers collect scarves from anyone wanting to support the organization's mission and gather stories from people facing cancer.

Assist with maintaining the organization's website or creating a monthly newsletter. Volunteers with tech skills are encouraged to help enhance the organization's online presence.

Create dog coats, necklaces, and toys for greyhounds. Volunteers with skills in sewing, knitting, or other crafts are welcome to contribute their talents.

Join the transport team to pick up dogs and bring them to their foster homes. Volunteers should be comfortable with driving and handling dogs during transport.

Assist guests with questions, provide onboard information and other assistance, and assist with special events as needed. Volunteers should be interested in learning and talking about riverboats, the Ohio River, and the city of Louisville.
