CTFD is actively looking for volunteers of all levels. In March 2019 we consolidated Fire District #1 and Fire District #2 into one district and most recently, one fire company. Currently, we are staffed with career firefighters Monday through Friday from 7 am-5 pm. In addition, there is one firefighter/driver from 5 pm-7 am Monday through Friday and around the clock on weekends which during these times the rest of the crew is made up of volunteer firefighters. However, our qualified volunteer firefighter numbers have been going down dramatically over the past 15 years even with our community doubling in size. Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company is always accepting applications for membership. The requirements for each type of membership are listed below. Please review the different types of membership and then click the Want to Join link below for an application. Please fill out the application form and submit it we will then contact you. Volunteer Positions: Junior Firefighter, Active Firefighters (Resident), Active Firefighters (Non-Resident), Associate Members, and Fire Police Officers. Thank you. | Requirements: Active Firefighters (Resident) · All applicants for active resident membership must be resident citizens of the Township of West Windsor; at least 18 years of age. · Applicants for active membership shall attend Firefighter 1 through a recognized fire school, such as Mercer County Fire School. Applicants will have the same responsibilities as a Junior Firefighter until completion of the Firefighter 1 course. Upon completion of the Fire Fighter 1 training, member shall have a probationary period of 1 year. · Applicants for active membership must make 20% of all fire calls and 50% of the drills and/or meetings to remain active. · Applicants must attend State Mandated courses (Blood born Pathogens, right to know, hazard materials awareness) every year. Active Firefighters (Non-Resident) · All applicants for active non-resident membership must be at least 18 years of age, must be a resident of an adjoining municipality, or must be employed within West Windsor Township. · Applicants for active membership shall attend Firefighter 1 through a recognized fire school, such as Mercer County Fire School.
