Spend time at the Adoption Center, loving and playing with available cats to help them learn trust and the rewards of human companionship. Volunteers must attend a cat-handling training class and feel comfortable handling cats of all ages.

Join our volunteer community as a hairstylist, masseuse, nail technician, reflexologist, or other wellness provider. Help provide free haircuts and massages to survivors of trauma in partnership with community-based organizations.

Participate in organizing and executing fundraising events to cover operational costs, including veterinary bills and foster care. Volunteers are needed for event setup, takedown, and various tasks during the events.

Help create and distribute flyers to attract potential foster homes for rescued animals. Volunteers document coverage areas to avoid duplication of efforts.

Assist at adoption/information events where potential adopters and supporters can meet available pets. Volunteers help introduce Chicago Pet Rescue to future supporters and volunteers, and assist with the adoption process.

The volunteer will develop marketing strategies, manage digital marketing campaigns, create content, conduct community outreach, and provide analytics reports for the fall fundraiser event. This role requires approximately 3-5 hours per week and offers the opportunity to gain experience in marketing within the arts and nonprofit sectors.
