The Pittsford Fire Department has been proudly serving the citizens of Pittsford and Florence with Pride, Professionalism and Dedication since 1948. We are staffed with approximately 20 volunteer/call firefighters who are on call and respond when an emergency occurs. The West Rutland Fire Department is well-equipped with a fleet of 6 on-road vehicles and 1 off-road vehicle, a full compliment of modern firefighting and rescue equipment, and dedicated Firefighters who pride themselves in their skills and community service. We are housed in a modern fire station and meet regularly to further our training. The Department answers approximately 100 emergency calls for service each year. Our members enjoy a close camaraderie in a friendly environment where everyone works together to serve our community. | Requirements: 1. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age; and 2. Must be physically fit and medically cleared to perform the duties of a Firefighter; and 3. Must be a legal resident of the Town of West Rutland; and 4.
