Docents are needed to interpret the outdoor classroom and the history of Modie Park, providing educational tours and insights to visitors. Volunteers should have strong interpersonal skills and an interest in education and nature.

Photographers are needed to capture the beauty and events at Modie Park, contributing to the park's visual documentation and promotional materials. Volunteers should have experience in photography and a creative eye.

Gardeners are needed to care for the butterfly garden and help create a new fragrance garden at Modie Park. Volunteers should have a passion for gardening and nature, and be willing to work outdoors.

Carpenters are needed to revitalize the kitchen at the Osborn Interpretative Center. Volunteers should have experience in carpentry and skilled craft or trade work.

Help prepare Locomotive Park for the holiday season by assisting with the setup and decoration of festive light displays. Volunteers will work together to ensure the park is ready for visitors to enjoy the holiday lights.

Assist in organizing and facilitating monthly community resource events held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Volunteers will help provide valuable information, access to services, and opportunities for community connection.

Assist in the search and rescue of missing pets, scan for microchips, and help reunite them with their families. Volunteers may also help with transporting pets and conducting home checks for potential fosters.

Support displaced students by assisting with overnight accommodations, ensuring they are awakened for school, served breakfast, and sent to school. Volunteers help maintain a safe and supportive environment for up to 16 guests each night.

Participate in organizing and attending fundraising events to support the organization's mission. Responsibilities include event setup, engaging with the public, and promoting the organization's services.

Assist in the Drop-In Center by welcoming students, serving snacks and dinner, facilitating social activities, and helping with assignments. Volunteers help create a supportive environment for teens aged 12-17.

Volunteers are invited to share 3 hours a week to support local teens in distress. Responsibilities include providing a safe environment, offering food, and being a caring presence. Volunteer training is available daily.

Provide a safe and loving temporary home for pets waiting to be reunited with their families or adopted into new homes. Responsibilities include basic pet care, socialization, and transportation to vet appointments.

The Lapwai Fire Department is housed within the Lapwai Community on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. The intent of being a Volunteer Fire Fighter is to respond to fire alarms and emergency calls to protect lives and property of the community, Assess conditions and act quickly to extinguish and contain fires from spreading for both Structural and Wildland fire incidents. Immediate duties are as follows: Performing Structure, Wildland, and vehicle Firefighting, Equipment and Facilities Maintenance, Public Education, working with Mutual Aid partners, Law Enforcement, EMS, and the public at large. As a volunteer, the expectation for you (crew) to respond to emergency calls and to train in addition to your day jobs. There is not a schedule available for shifts. Emergency situations can occur at any time, day or night. It does not abide by holidays or weekends. So, it is critical for volunteers (when available) to standby to respond, should an emergency situation occur. | Requirements: Desire to be of service to the community. Understand that as a volunteer that being a volunteer firefighter is a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year commitment. To be a reliable and competent firefighting volunteer, a person might be on call constantly and must be trained Age 18+ years old at completion of training, possess valid Drivers License, pass background check, have good driving record, be in good health and physical condition, reside or be employed within department service response area, be willing to follow orders from fire department officers, work with other Emergency Services Agencies and assist the community in their time of need. Most fire gear will be provided for both Structural and Wildland fires except for Wildland boots.
