Assist Care Sphere in securing funding by writing and submitting grant proposals. Volunteers will research potential funding opportunities and develop proposals that align with the organization's mission and goals.

Participate in governance activities to ensure the effective management and oversight of Care Sphere. Volunteers will work with the board and leadership team to develop policies and strategies that support the organization's mission.

Join one of Care Sphere's committees to help guide the organization's initiatives and programs. Volunteers will collaborate with other members to plan and execute strategies that support the mission of Care Sphere.

Assist with setting up events organized by Care Sphere, helping to create a welcoming and organized environment for attendees. Volunteers will be responsible for arranging materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring the venue is ready for the event.

Planned group service opportunities are available for organizations such as Scouts, corporations, youth groups, and community partners. Projects are tailored to the group's needs and interests.

Regular volunteers work weekly or bi-weekly to feed animals, muck stalls, clean coops, rake pastures, clear invasive plants, perform health checks, and more. Volunteers must be physically fit, able to lift at least 50lbs, vaccinated against COVID-19, and comfortable working around large animals.

Community volunteer days offer a variety of projects for all ability levels, suitable for those who do not meet the age or physical requirements for regular volunteering. These events are scheduled several times a year.

The primary focus of the Resident Firefighter shall be to obtain on-the-job training to better prepare themselves for a career in the fire service. Under general supervision of a Fire Captain, the Resident Firefighter trains in the general duties and responsibilities of a Firefighter, participates in regular training, drills and study activities; participates in fire prevention activities; assists in the maintenance of fire stations, apparatus, and equipment; responds to alarms, rescue and other emergency calls, assists in protecting life and property endangered by fire or other hazards, administers emergency medical care; participates in scheduled public relations activities and performs other duties as assigned. The Resident Firefighter classification is a volunteer position. There is no salary or hourly compensation. Assist at adoption events by liaising with applicants and other volunteers, providing advice and support to potential adopters and fosters.

Complete home-checks for adoption or foster applicants to ensure a safe and suitable environment for the dogs. This role is vital in the final stages of the adoption process.
