Storytellers engage with visitors by sharing stories and anecdotes related to the exhibits and the history of the Coquille Valley. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for storytelling.

As a Museum Docent, you will guide visitors through the museum, providing information about exhibits and the history of the Coquille Valley. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and an interest in history.

As an all volunteer department we are neighbors responding in times of need. We always need more volunteers for everything from help around the station, engine/station maintenance, fire ground support, medical response, fire response, etc. We are looking for time commitments of a couple hours per week. Assist with gardening, trail maintenance, and general upkeep of facilities at the Oregon Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Tasks include planting, weeding, and organizing refuge shops.

Join the Greater Bandon Association in hosting the Alive After Five Art & Wine Walk. Volunteers will assist in setting up the event, guiding participants, and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees as they explore local shops and enjoy wine tastings.

Participate in monthly cleanup events at various parks and sites in the Coos Bay and North Bend area. Volunteers can help with tasks such as sign-ins, taking photos, small litter pickup, painting, and invasive plant removal. More physically demanding tasks like weed-eating and brush trimming are also available.

Monitor harbor seal pups and their mothers at Coquille Point during low tides on weekends. Volunteers help ensure the safety of the seals and educate the public about proper etiquette around wildlife.

Volunteer as a wildlife interpreter at Coquille Point, engaging with visitors to educate them about the natural history and wildlife of the southern Oregon coast. Volunteers are expected to be on duty on Fridays in May and weekends from May 4 to May 18.

This position performs firefighting, emergency medical care, and general station duties. Included within these duties are the following: preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires; saving life and property; assisting the public as directed; station and equipment maintenance; and related activities and/or other duties as may be required and assigned. Work is performed in the station, office, in vehicles and outdoor settings, and in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during day and night. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations. The individual is exposed to hearing alarms and hazards associated with fighting fires and rendering medical assistance, including smoke, noxious odors, fumes, solid chemicals, liquid chemicals, solvents, and oils. Emergency activities may expose Firefighters to hazardous conditions, materials, or health risks during fire suppression, hazardous material incidents, or in caring for the sick and injured. While performing the duties of this job, the Firefighter is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The Firefighter is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, or smell. The Firefighter may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 170 pounds.
