The North Liberty Fire Department is a busy and professional volunteer fire department. The NLFD currently has 40 members, both that live in town and out of town that serve our community of approximately 20,000 people and 56 square miles. The NLFD is a progressive and innovative fire department that is well served by the city of North Liberty and takes pride in our training and our commitment to our community. Assist in the rehabilitative care of sick and/or injured raptors, including handling raptors, assisting with treatment, preparing food, and cleaning. Training will be provided, and volunteers must be comfortable working in direct contact with live birds of prey.

Use your graphic design skills to create online media, posters, and educational handouts to attract more people to ecological gardening.

Assist in preparing and planting educational garden beds. Ideal for those who enjoy hands-on gardening work.

Encourage the local-slow-organic-happy food movement by demonstrating your cooking prowess at events. Prepare garden-based snacks or lunches for attendees.

Help keep the community informed by updating the online calendar, creating online media, and updating the website. Moderate computer skills are needed.

Provide companionship to seniors through in-person visits and phone calls. Volunteers may also assist with running errands to support the daily needs of seniors.

Assist seniors with technology-related tasks, including phone, TV, and computer setup and troubleshooting. Volunteers help seniors stay connected and engaged with the digital world.
