Additionally, support roles are available for individuals not choosing the more physically demanding responsibilities within the department. NYS certification and support for training are provided by the agency. Prior experience is not required. | Requirements: Course work requires a two to three sessions a week commitment for 3 to 6 months depending on the course. After training availability on an on call basis for responding to emergencies. In station ride times can be scheduled. Ongoing training is weekly with opportunities to enroll in advanced coursework.
