Help in the collection and sorting of surplus food to prevent waste and support food distribution programs. Volunteers will work with local businesses and farms to recover food that would otherwise go to waste.

Volunteers ride along with our driver and assist in loading, unloading, and organizing food as it is distributed across our service area. You’ll need stamina for long rides and strength for heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)! Responds on apparatus to fire calls and takes action to do what is needed to help serve the community. On a fire scene you would be able to wear an air pack and go inside the building with full PPE and SCBA.
