Volunteers are needed to support our mission to inform and educate. Our six committees offer a variety of opportunities including: Communications, Finance, Government Affairs, Membership, Programs, and Technology.

Volunteers are needed to assist in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts & crafts, music, and special events. Volunteers will also help campers in the cabins and with daily living skills, ensuring a fun and supportive environment.

Volunteers help monitor and report pollution in local waterways, playing a crucial role in maintaining water quality and environmental health.

Volunteers assist marine scientists in tagging and studying horseshoe crabs, contributing to important environmental research and conservation efforts.

Volunteers are needed to assist with counting and tagging tree species on Shelter Island. This involves identifying different tree species, tagging them for records, and helping with the maintenance of newly-planted trees.

Engage with visitors by sharing the rich history and heritage of Sylvester Manor. Volunteers will assist with educational programs and historical research.

Assist with the preservation and maintenance of the historic 1737 Manor House. Volunteers will help with organizing, cleaning, and possibly guiding tours.

Participate in the daily operations of the farm, including planting, harvesting, and caring for livestock. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices.

Support arts and educational programs at Sylvester Manor by assisting with event planning, program facilitation, and community outreach.

Help organize and execute special events at Sylvester Manor, including concerts, cultural events, and fundraisers. Volunteers will assist with logistics, setup, and guest services.

Help maintain the beautiful gardens and grounds of Sylvester Manor. Tasks include gardening, landscaping, and general outdoor maintenance.

Assist in raising funds for library activities and needs by supporting educational and entertainment programs. Promote interest and support in The Hampton Bays Library.

Help with mailings, research, and other tasks that make a difference. Work with the team in Southampton or Cutchogue to reach out to supporters and prospects.

Share your expertise as a program leader, or greet and check in guests, then stick around to enjoy the program. Volunteers help create successful fundraising events and attend work days at the Agricultural Center.

Our stewardship needs are diverse -- from planting beach grass, helping remove invasive plants and installing natives in their place, repairing fence lines, cleaning up trails and preserves, to being the Trust's eyes and ears in the field.

Assist guests upon entry, usher people to their seats, and perform other duties as requested during off-season concerts and comedy shows. Volunteers should enjoy meeting and greeting people.

Assist with special events by helping with setup, guest assistance, and other tasks as needed. Volunteers should be energetic and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
