Volunteers are essential within our community to provide services including fire suppression, haz-mat response, basic medical emergency response, and many others tasks to keep the fire department operating efficiently and effectively. Looking for volunteers that reside in the North Sulphur or DeQuincy La. areas. The department protects the community with 5 fire stations strategically located throughout the fire district to minimize response times to emergencies. The department is currently in the recovery phase due to the effects of Hurricanes Laura and Delta and currently has 40 volunteer positions available. The Ward 6 Fire Protection District #1 is search for individuals with a little more to give. The department is staffed by volunteer firefighters and we need you. Volunteering as little as 5 hours per week can provide you an introduction to the fire service. Training, responding to emergencies, and of course the acceptance into the brother or sisterhood of firefighting will instill the skills you need to give back to your community.
