Hall Monitors are responsible for guiding children to and from restrooms and ensuring no unaccompanied children are in the hallways. Volunteers will also oversee children before and after classes and ensure they are picked up by an adult.

Clean-up Crew Members ensure that facilities are left clean and orderly. Responsibilities include emptying trash, sweeping, vacuuming, and restocking restrooms to maintain a good reputation with facility providers.

Classroom Helpers assist class leaders with setting up and cleaning up classrooms, helping with activities, and performing any other tasks required by the class leader.

Me, a firefighter? No, I'm not the type. Indeed, many are not the type to be a volunteer firefighter or an EMS member. On the other hand, many who might be the type have never had the opportunity to experience the fulfillment this service creates in each volunteer. For a person to qualify to join our team, experience and training are preferred, but not required. One merely has to be at least 18 years of age and, most importantly, possess the desire to learn. Continual training is always available and is paid for by the department. We are call personnel: we respond to calls when we are available and are compensated for the calls we respond to. Weed Watchers patrol the shoreline of Thorndike Pond to identify and report any invasive plant species. Each volunteer is assigned a section of the shoreline to monitor at least once a month.

Volunteer Lake Hosts help ensure the quality of Thorndike Pond by inspecting boats and educating boaters about invasive species. Volunteers can choose their working hours and use the Lake Host app to report their activities.

The Canada Geese Officer registers with the State of NH to manage goose nesting around Thorndike Pond. The officer monitors shorelines for nesting and works with property owners to manage nests according to state guidelines.
