Lead tours for the general public, adult organizations, school-age children, or youth groups. Volunteers receive training in nature interpretation, and additional optional trainings are provided annually.

Help staff with public programs, ski and snowshoe rentals, and Day in the Life of Niagara River/Lake Erie Watershed.

Collect data for projects such as Project FeederWatch at Reinstein Woods.

Assist with one-day events such as the Fall Festival, Get Outdoors Day, and Friends of Reinstein Woods’ fundraisers. Duties can include set up, clean up, parking, activity, food sales, etc.

Host the front desk and help to answer phones and visitor questions in the Education Center. Duties may include copying and folding or helping with basic office needs. Training will be provided.

Help with trail maintenance, trash clean up, invasive species removal, maintaining compost bins, weeding herb or flower gardens. Opportunities include Trail Thursdays and other workdays.

Provide quality photos during special events and public programs throughout the year. Preferably experienced photographers who are comfortable with public interaction.

Attend events at local fairs and festivals to provide information to increase public awareness and support of Reinstein Woods.

Join our Development, Membership, Finance, or Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committees. These committees assist the board of directors in raising funds and promoting Reinstein Woods.

Support the NMA Summer Picnic by helping unload and load equipment, clean up the shelter, and acquire donations for raffle tables. Volunteers will assist in ensuring the event runs smoothly and is enjoyable for all attendees.

Join our team of dedicated volunteers to help care for animals at our shelter. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and providing general care for the animals. Volunteers are essential to the daily operations of the shelter.

Help manage and update the organization's website to ensure it is current and informative. Volunteers will work on content updates, design improvements, and general website maintenance.

Assist in organizing and executing fundraising events to support our mission. Volunteers will help with event planning, coordination, and promotion to raise funds for the shelter.

Assist with the Old Homes Days Kids Fishing Derby by helping 50 to 70 kids with their tackle, removing hooks from bass and bluegills, and measuring and recording fish. Volunteers will also engage with children and answer questions about muskies.
