Our volunteer personnel include maintenance workers, engineers, alarm system techs, supervisors, small business owners, full-time firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and more. | Requirements: STANDARDS FOR FIREFIGHTERS Candidates for the position of firefighter shall (ORC § 124.42; ORC § 124.43): Be at least 18 years of age. Pass a physical examination showing that the person meets the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter. Not have been disqualified due to criminal convictions as outlined in ORC § 737.081. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION Every candidate shall undergo a thorough background investigation to verify the candidate's personal integrity and high ethical standards and to identify any past behavior that may indicate the candidate’s unsuitability to perform duties relevant to the operation of the Providence Township Fire & Rescue.
