The Lowell Rural Fire Protection District serves 23 square mile area that includes the City of Lowell and rural communities of Fall Creak and Unity. The district boundaries surround Fall Creek Reservoir and includes the northern shoreline of Dexter Reservoir. Initial firefighter training is 4 to 6 consectutive weekends, to include HazMat and Wildland training. Must be able to operate as a member of a team. Must successfully complete entrence physical ability evaluation, interview and chief's interview, must have clean driving record, must submit to criminal background check and fit for duty medical exam by district physician. Volunteer EMS Responder - Resident of Lowell Fire District Interested in responding to medical emergencies in the capacity of EMT. Must be Oregon Certified EMT-First Responder, EMT-B, EMT-I or EMT-P. Must successfully complete entrance evaluation, must have clean driving record, must submit to criminal background check and fit for duty medical exam by district physician. Maintain all training requirements for weekly drill attendance . Volunteer Intern Firefighter/EMT - Non-resident of Lowell Fire District Must satisfy all requirements of Volunteer Firefighter or EMS Responder except residency. Must complete required training. Must staff duty shift of 8 hours per week, week days and 48 hours per month weekend duty. Resident Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Must satisfy all requirements of Volunteer Firefighter. Must be enrolled in qualified EMS or Fire Science Degree program through accredited college. Must maintain station quarters as primary place of residence.
