North Hays County Fire/Rescue is a combination department consisting of a career and volunteer staff. We provide services to 244 square miles of Northern Hays County. The department has 6 stations located in and around the surrounding areas of Dripping Springs, Driftwood, and Henly, Texas. Station 71 is located in Dripping Springs and has a full-time crew on duty at all times. Station 62 is located in Driftwood and has a full-time crew on duty at all times. Collaborate with principals, staff, and Booster/PTOs across 9 campus groups to share resources and support campus efforts.

Manage and create content for Instagram and Facebook pages, maintain an inclusive calendar, and conduct ongoing research to support committee work.

Assist in creating and distributing E4E newsletters, voter guides, and promotional materials. Engage with community members through various communication channels.

Volunteers visit Texas female prisons to record incarcerated mothers reading stories to their children. Volunteers must be female, at least 18 years old, and pass a criminal background check conducted by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Volunteers assist with planning, preparation, and execution of special events such as the annual fundraising luncheon and book drive. Commitment varies and most hours are evenings and weekends.

Office volunteers select books, complete the mailing of packages received from mothers in prison, sort and box books, and more. Shifts are typically a couple of hours long.

Volunteers will assist Komen Staff with brainstorming and activating various aspects of the event: Hope Village, Top Fundraiser area, course-side Entertainment, and so much more. Requested to attend one meeting per month in the 5-6 months leading up to the event.

Serve as a Venue Coordinator to gain experience in event coordination and make contacts with gallery and business owners. This role involves helping hang art at exhibits and serving as an assistant/trainee for six months.

Spicewood Fire Rescue is a Combination of Volunteer and Paid Firefighters. We cover 55 square miles in the Southeastern Burnet County are of Spicewood. Spicewood is organized underneath Burnet County Emergency Service District 9 which provides us with the funding needed for day to day operations. We average 30 calls per month from medical calls, to wildland fires, to car wrecks, to rescue incidents. Training is held every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm.
