The Rosalie Rendu Center is continually innovating and creating new offerings for its students, and welcomes new ideas and volunteer expertise. Past special projects have included hosting a one-day activity or skill-based class like jewelry making, financial planning, and gardening.

Help a student acquire and become more confident in his/her speaking, reading, and writing skills. This role is flexible with a schedule of one hour, once a week, conducted through video conferencing until in-person meetings can resume.

This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for individuals who have a passion for teaching others and are comfortable speaking in front of other adults. Volunteers do not need to be fluent in Spanish to teach or assist these classes, though some knowledge of Spanish is helpful.

Help maintain our organic garden by weeding, pruning, and planting. This opportunity allows you to contribute to our community's food resources while enjoying the outdoors.

Join us as a Community Closet Volunteer where you will sort and hang clothing, pair shoes, and stock items. You will also assist in sorting donations and help with donation pickups.

As a Food Closet Volunteer, you will assist in sorting, stocking, and packing food boxes for families in need. You will also help with produce distribution on the first Tuesday of each month and serve hot meals on Wednesdays, although the meal service is currently not in operation due to the pandemic.

As an Administrative Volunteer, you will assist with front desk duties, including answering phones, transferring calls, and clerical work such as data entry and filing. This role is crucial for keeping our operations running smoothly.

As a Program Assistant, you will provide virtual administrative support, including designing flyers and tracking responses from tutors and students. This position is virtual.

As an Academic Tutor or Peer Mentor, you will provide homework assistance in reading, writing, or math, and offer socioemotional support to students. You will guide students in reading for 30 minutes daily, and fluency in Spanish is a plus.

As a Grant Writer, you will submit grants and develop funding relationships with public agencies and community partners. This position is virtual.

As a Youth Activity Leader, you will support students in cultural enrichment activities and field trips during the summer. This position requires in-person attendance and Spanish fluency is a plus.

As a Sports Leader, you will operate youth leagues or recreational team sports for students. This position requires in-person attendance and Spanish fluency is a plus.

As a Photographer, you will photograph and interview students during programs and events for website upload. This position requires in-person attendance.

As a Social Media Coordinator, you will assist in managing the organization's social media accounts. This position is virtual.

As a Youth Organizer, you will engage in community organizing efforts and leadership development activities. This role involves working closely with other youth members to advocate for social justice and participate in various campaigns.

As a mentor, you will guide students through various technology-related projects and help them develop essential skills in coding, design, and innovation. This role involves working closely with students, providing support and encouragement as they learn and grow in their understanding of technology.

Ensure access to clean and safe water for all residents through education and advocacy. Volunteers will participate in community workshops and outreach programs.

Build power through civic education and voter participation. Volunteers will help organize events and provide information to the community about civic rights and responsibilities.

As a Robotics Coach, you will help students explore career possibilities in STEM by assisting them in preparing for competitions, fundraising, and engaging in design and engineering activities. No experience in STEM is required, and the minimum commitment is once a week for 2-3 hours.
