Participate in both remote and in-person activities to support the care and adoption of dogs, including handling and socializing with the animals.

Support the organization remotely by developing and executing marketing strategies to promote adoption events and increase community engagement.

Assist with processing volunteer applications remotely, ensuring timely and accurate handling of volunteer information.

Provide remote assistance with organizing and managing documents to support the administrative needs of the organization.

Work in-person at the shelter to care for cats, including feeding, cleaning, and socializing, with shifts available in the morning and evening, seven days a week.

Assist in-person on weekends by bringing animals to adoption events, setting up event tables, and engaging with potential adopters.

Drive animals to vet appointments or potential homes, ensuring safe and timely transport.

The Live Oak Engine Company No.1 of the Rockville Centre Fire Department is currently accepting applications for positions as firefighters. Join the restoration team to help with habitat restoration efforts. Volunteers will attend a training session and receive updates on available project dates to join.

Volunteers will collect acoustic data as part of the Bat Monitoring Project. Participants must attend a mandatory training session on acoustic monitoring devices and commit to a minimum of 3 nights of surveying from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

Assist applicants in completing their forms for student loan relief, ensuring all necessary documents are attached and information is accurate. Volunteers will help guide applicants through the process and provide support as needed.

Assist in organizing and facilitating community outreach events such as Financial Education Workshops, Annual Prom Dress Giveaway, and Women in Business Networking Brunch. Volunteers will help with event setup, coordination, and participant engagement.

Help manage Cancer ReSource Stations by coordinating free cancer patient navigation services. Responsibilities include virtual, phone, or in-person intake services, free cancer screenings, and referrals to support groups, financial assistance, and other resources.

Assist staff with weeding, planting, seeding, harvesting, bed preparation, removing manure, ploughing fields, landscaping, and operation of machinery.
