Sincerely, Chief Multerer | Requirements: Although no previous experience or training is required, you need more than just a desire to help people. You also need courage and dedication, assertiveness, and a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges. Our service is one that calls on its members to perform hot, sweaty, dirty, strenuous work, often in uncertain and hazardous environments. Our volunteers need to be team players, respecting each other’s role and contributions. You need to be able to work on-call and to deal with occasional interruptions to your lifestyle, dropping what you’re doing at the ‘sound of the bell’ to respond to the emergency needs of your fellow citizen. A new recruit can expect to spend between 5-10 hours each week on fire company business. This entails meetings, training, emergency responses and other miscellaneous activities. Some weeks will be more and other weeks much less. The days of the week or times may vary depending on the level of activity. However, most regularly scheduled events occur on Wednesday evenings. We’ve listed a lot of the benefits you can expect from us, and in return there are certain objectives we expect you to meet: TO APPLY: You must be at least 16 years of age to apply. A statement of parental or guardian consent must accompany an application from anyone under the age of 18 years. You must be a citizen of the United States. You must be physically, intellectually and emotionally capable of performing the duties according to your area of assignment. You must reside within the Eggertsville Fire District. You must have no record of felony convictions. You must successfully pass an OSHA Physical examination conducted by our medical provider and paid for by the fire district. New members will be considered on probation for a minimum period of one year. After this probationary period, the member will be recommended for continued service or terminated at that time. Removal from probationary status requires that the aforementioned requirements be fulfilled along with the probationary requirements of their membership classification. All members must attend 50% of all regular monthly business meetings (6 per year) held on the first Monday of every month, and all special meetings unless excused. All personnel are responsible for assisting in the fund-raising efforts of the organization. Failure to complete the minimum requirements can result in termination of membership. New Firefighters must complete a NYS Firefighter I course within one to two years of acceptance into membership. Probationary firefighters will not be allowed to attend any other courses prior to completion of the Firefighter I course. New Firefighters must attend at least 12 regularly scheduled or special drills (Training) during the one-year probation period. Regular drills are scheduled on Wednesdays. New Firefighters must complete a NYS Certified EMT or First Responder course to be accepted into full membership. Active Firefighters must respond to 15% of the total Fire/EMS calls per year. Responsible for contacting the applicant’s personal references, veterinarian, and performing the home visit to decide if the applicant is fit to adopt.

Administer vaccinations or insert microchips to dogs as needed.

Licensed barbers and cosmetologists are needed to donate their time giving free haircuts to those who cannot afford one in the Western New York community. Volunteers will be provided with all necessary supplies and tools.

Assist with sweeping hair, disinfecting tools, and engaging with guests during haircut events. No specific skills are required, and all necessary supplies will be provided.

Volunteers help set up and organize the clothing closet. This involves lifting, carrying, and organizing donations, requiring 10-20 hours total for setup and ongoing maintenance.

Capture high-quality photos of ballet classes, rehearsals, and performances. These photos will be used for marketing materials, social media, and promotional purposes.

Help distribute marketing materials and posters throughout the community to promote upcoming performances and events. Volunteers should be comfortable with public interaction and have reliable transportation.

Provide assistance backstage during performances, including helping with costume changes and managing props. Volunteers should be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Assist with the setup and breakdown of exhibitions, greet visitors, and provide information about the artworks and artists. Help maintain the gallery space and ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Support special events by assisting with event setup, registration, and guest services. Help ensure events run smoothly and provide a positive experience for all attendees.

Assist instructors with art classes for youth and adults, including setup, material preparation, and providing support to students during class. Help foster a creative and supportive learning environment.

Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the ballet studio. Tasks include sweeping, mopping, and general tidying up to ensure a clean environment for dancers.
