Volunteers will meet with children aged 4-9 for one-on-one reading sessions, engaging them in reading activities to improve their literacy skills. Sessions are held twice a week during July, with the goal of preparing children to return to school ready to learn.

The Whitewater River Consolidated Fire District is seeking candidates (male and female) for volunteer firefighters. No experience is necessary, although those with training are welcome. The WRCFD provides fire protection and first responder service for EMS in the Cities of Whitewater and Elbing, we also cover Milton and Fairmount Townships in Butler County and Richland and the south half of Pleasant Townships in Harvey County. All candidates will be trained as firefighters and those who are interested can pursue EMT certification. Training is held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7pm. | Requirements: 1. Reside in the Fire District or close proximity of the Fire District. 2. Desire to assist others in their time of need. 3. Attend 75% of the training and 10% of the calls. 4.
