The West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department is in need of volunteers to become firefighters and EMT's. This department is progressive and can offer help to obtain commercial drivers licenses for those wishing to drive fire apparatus. Help also is available to further EMS education past EMT to become a paramedic. Volunteering at West Friendship will also allow for in county tuition for an Associate of Applied Sciences in Fire Science at Howard Community College for those who qualify. The department has dorm rooms available for residency for those who qualify.
