GENERAL SUMMARY Personnel assigned the position of Fire Fighter are responsible for the protection of life, limb, and property by performing fire fighting, rescue, emergency medical, and hazardous material intervention. Fire Fighters are also expected to assist with fire prevention, fire inspections, and supporting the safety of the community. Within the station, Fire fighters assist with maintaining fire equipment, apparatus, and department facilities. EMRs are expected to provide care to patients in vehicles and other close quarters. EMRs are further expected to assist with home safety inspections and support the health and welfare of the community. EMR personnel must operate within a chain of command and exercise good judgment in the performance of their duties both in the station and on the scene of an incident.
