Garden ambassadors spend time out in the Gardens greeting Wellfield guests, answering questions, and assisting our Guest Services staff. This role enhances the visitor experience and promotes community engagement.

Visitors Center volunteers welcome guests with a smile and help make their visit to Wellfield memorable. They also assist with greeting guests for special events.

Horticulture volunteers help with planting, pruning, weeding, and general garden maintenance. Volunteers are needed in every garden space to ensure the gardens remain beautiful and healthy.

As a CASA volunteer, you will advocate for children in Elkhart County’s court system, using your training to ensure their safety and well-being in nurturing environments. This role involves working closely with children and families to provide support and guidance during legal proceedings.

Assist in organizing and executing special events to promote the mission of the Elkhart County Feral Cat Coalition. Responsibilities include event setup, coordination, and engaging with the community to raise awareness about feline homelessness.

Participate in outreach activities to educate the public about the importance of spaying/neutering and caring for feral cats. Volunteers will engage with the community, distribute educational materials, and support the organization's outreach efforts.

Cleveland Township Fire is a full service department. We participate in active fire suppression of both residential and commercial properties as well as provide mutual aid to surrounding areas. We have a mixed response area of both hydrant as well as water shuttle needs. Vehicle rescue and extrication is also a big part of what we do. We participate in cutting edge extrication techniques and patient care. Occasionally we have to utilize aeromedical transportation. In addition, we provide paramedic care to our patients. We operate two paramedic ambulances. Our volunteer staff is highly encouraged to acquire EMT Basic status but it is not required. Approximately 80% of the calls we receive are of an EMS related nature. Cleveland also actively participates in community programs including school visits and presentations. We love to teach children about safety and the dangers of fire and when and how to use 911. There are also several department functions that we host including the teaching of new and upcoming firefighters as well as an annual fish fry and holiday firehouse family events. | Requirements: 18 years old. Participate in invasive species removal days at the sanctuary, focusing on removing harmful species like garlic mustard and multiflora rose.

Conduct bird counts in May and near Christmas. Inexperienced birders will be paired with experienced ones to learn and assist in the survey.
