Help promote the activities and mission of Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter through marketing and publicity efforts. Volunteers will distribute fliers, posters, and brochures, and assist in advertising campaigns.

Each May, college and career-aged volunteers help prepare the camp for summer. Tasks include landscaping, housekeeping, and maintenance. No prior experience is needed, and participation is free.

Fannin County Georgia is seeking individuals that want to become volunteer firefighters. The program offered will take the individual to the level of NPQ-1 Firefighter to include State of Georgia certification as a Firefighter 1 and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations level. You will also have specialized training classes of vehicle extrication and wild land search and rescue as well during the course. We also offer a state certified support firefighter training program as well. Along with the ability to enroll in the Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund. This pension fund is offered even as a volunteer member actively engaged with any volunteer department as suppression or support firefighter. | Requirements: 18 years of age at time of final testing.
