Volunteers help maintain hiking trails by clearing debris and ensuring trails are safe for visitors. This role is crucial for preserving the park's natural pathways.

Volunteers help with the Dark Sky program by educating visitors about the night sky and assisting with events. This role supports the park's efforts to preserve and promote its dark sky resources.

Trail Ambassadors assist visitors on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, providing guidance and ensuring the trail is welcoming and accessible. They play a key role in enhancing visitor experience.

Volunteers are responsible for cleaning the park's beaches and logging the litter they find. This helps maintain the natural beauty and cleanliness of the beaches for visitors.

Assist in building new and exciting exhibits and maintaining existing ones. Carpentry, engineering, and electronic skills are welcome!

Provide input on programs, curriculum, exhibits, and the general COG experience. Ideal for parents and teachers to share their wisdom and expertise.

Be a tour guide of exploration! Greet guests, operate the check-in counter and cash register, engage visitors and help them explore the exhibits we have. Animal care and handling are really helpful tasks in the center too.

Help with transporting materials, setting up, engaging the public, tearing down, and returning materials during festivals and expos. Many hands make light work!

Assist in keeping the space low-cost by helping with grant writing and fundraising efforts. Ideal for those with connections or outgoing personalities.

Engage in social media, website, graphic design, printing, and distributing pamphlets and flyers. Help invite people to VIP tours of the center.

Assist with daily vacuuming, wiping tables, weekly shelf dusting, and regular toy sanitization to keep the center sparkling and germ-free.

We are seeking a qualified candidate who is willing to get their state-certified Fire Fighter and Medical First Responder training. The fire training consists of 240 hours of classroom and practical application training and the medical training consist of 90 days. All training is paid for by the department including mileage to get to these classes. Volunteers advocate for the rescue and the horses, assisting in public relations and fundraising efforts to support the organization's mission.

Volunteers are responsible for feeding and grooming horses, hauling hay, and maintaining pastures, fences, and equipment. They also assist in grant writing, public relations, and fundraising activities.

WUWU volunteers provide a variety of services to support the community radio station, including paperwork, programming, recording audio promos, covering community events, and staffing events. Volunteers help keep the station and venue vibrant and active.

Caregivers are responsible for the well-being of feral cat colonies by providing food, water, and shelter, and ensuring all cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. They also monitor the health of the cats and plan for substitute care when needed.

Transporters assist by taking cats in traps to veterinary appointments for spay/neuter and medical care, ensuring they are returned to their colonies post-treatment. Volunteers are needed for scheduled transport dates.

Sewing volunteers create covers for cat traps and cushions for cat beds, aiding in the comfort and care of feral cats. This role supports the physical well-being of cats in the program.

Volunteers help set up and monitor traps for feral cats, ensuring humane trapping and safe relocation post-trapping. Training and resources are provided for this role.
