Private-Planning Volunteers share their knowledge to give back to the community and reach personal and professional goals. Volunteers must have a minimum of five years of experience in their field to educate others.

General volunteers play a key role in organizing, running, and following up on educational events and private coaching. They support the community daily by advocating for causes they believe in.

Become a cat caretaker at Petco locations in Westport and Norwalk. Responsibilities include feeding cats, cleaning their cubbies, and providing them with playtime. Training is provided and required in the form of an initial 45-minute orientation.

Volunteers will make calls to community members to inform them about upcoming events and opportunities with GBLN. This role is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Volunteers are needed to support the mission of Love Heals Project by participating in various activities such as administration, events, fundraising, social media, deliveries, and communication. Volunteers must agree to be interviewed and trained in the organization's procedures.

Help feed cat colonies by providing food and water to designated areas. This role supports the health and well-being of feral cats in the community.

Transport cats to vet appointments and adoption events. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

Assist at adoption events by helping set up, interacting with potential adopters, and providing information about the cats available for adoption.

Provide temporary homes for stray cats and kittens until they are adopted. Responsibilities include feeding, socializing, and caring for the cats in your home.

Assist with the TNR program by trapping feral cats for spaying/neutering and vaccination. Trapping occurs throughout Fairfield County, typically at night or on weekends. Training is provided.

Help transport cats to and from veterinary appointments and foster homes, and assist with housing cats during their post-surgery recovery period.

Foster cats or kittens to provide them with a safe, home environment while they await adoption. Fosters are supplied with food, litter, toys, and bedding as needed. Duration typically lasts a few weeks.

Join Sustainable Westport's movement to promote sustainability in the community. Volunteers will engage in various activities to support environmental initiatives, including waste reduction and sustainable landscaping projects.

The Long Hill Fire Dept. is seeking new volunteers to serve the community of Trumbull, CT. | Requirements: 1. New members (both junior and senior), must serve a probationary period at a minimum of six months, and must pass a firefighter proficiency examination approved by the chief in order to be considered for membership to the Long Hill Fire Department. 2. Specific requirements for probationary membership: a. Junior members must be a least 16 years of age and live within the Long Hill Fire District. b. Senior members must be at least 18 years of age. c. United States Citizenship, or Legal Alien d. Applicant must pass a departmental medical examination and history given by the Long Hill Fire Department appointed physician 3. Applicant must authorize, in writing, the Long Hill Fire Department to conduct a background investigation to include the following information: Employment Information, Educational Information, Military History, Police and Criminal Records, DMV Driver’s Record, Health Information and three (3) Character References. 4. Process leading to Probationary appointment will consist of: a. Completed application be submitted as directed b. Submission of investigation waivers for release of information c. Interview by the Board of Directors d. General Membership application acceptance e. Medical examination by fire department physician f. Submit to drug test g. Agreement to return any and all equipment issued to the applicant upon termination of membership or when requested by the Fire Company or Fire District 5.
