Spokane Cnty Fire Dist #2
Spokane County Fire District 2 is looking for dedicated individuals who live and/or work in our community and are looking to give back. We serve our community with Fire and EMS Services. We respond to a variety of incidents including but not limited to field fires, brush and forest fires, structure fires, a variety of fire alarms, hazmat scenes, and Traffic collisions or other motor vehicle type accidents. We also respond to a large variety of emergency medical calls. SCFD2 has an in-house ambulance service that we utilize for transport of patients to the hospital when volunteer staffing allows. Our team ranges greatly in skill sets and we are open to accommodating new members to the commitment level they want to participate at. Once your application is processed members (with no prior fire/EMS experience) have to go through minimum state and department standard training to participate as a Support Volunteer. Support Volunteers: Respond with the rest of our members to incidents and are trained to assist in many aspects of our job, such as driving the ambulance for transports. This is an important role in our department that requires minimal time commitment and training standards for those who may not be able to commit as much time to this volunteer position. Some of our members remain support volunteers for their entire time participating in our department, and we greatly appreciate the participation we get out of these members who we know have busy lives. Wildland Firefighter: With some additional training and a slightly larger time commitment members who choose this path can additionally be trained as a wildland firefighter. In this position you may respond and operate our apparatus in the operations of a wildland fires both field and forest fires. This position may include hands on fire attack, fire pump operations, and water supply on fire scenes. Structure Firefighter: With additional training beyond the Support Volunteer role and a larger time commitment members who choose this path can additionally be trained as a structure firefighter. In this position you may respond and operate our structure apparatus in the operations of a structure fire. This position may include hands on pumper operations, assistance on a fire scene, and defensive fire operations. with additional training you can become a certified Airpacker allowing you to enter structure fires participating in activities such as Search and Rescue and Fire Attack/Suppression. EMS: With additional training beyond the Support Volunteer role and a larger time commitment members who choose this path can additionally be trained in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field. We would encourage those members who are interested to become EMT's (up to desired level) Once a certified EMT members can participate in hands on patient care and work as transport staff for our ambulance service. Whitman County Fire District #7
Whitman County Fire District #7 is seeking individuals who want to join our department as volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians. We are a volunteer fire department that provides Fire and EMS services to approximately 350 square miles of rural area. Becoming a volunteer opens up many opportunities to serve your community and learn new skills. We respond to medical emergencies, fires, vehicle collisions and a variety of other emergencies. We provide fire prevention programs for the local school, First Aid and CPR classes and many other public education opportunities. Volunteers are needed to contribute their time or expertise to help Let's Build a Community in its mission to create value from waste. Volunteers can assist in various programs such as glass recycling, creative upcycling, and sanitization projects.
Spokane Valley Summer Theatre
Community members are invited to serve as front-of-house volunteers for various productions, assisting with ushering, ticket scanning, will call, silent auctions, concessions, and hospitality. Volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to the show they assist with.
