The Fairview Fire Department is always looking for male or female volunteers to join our department. You must be 18 years of age and live within a 5 mile radius of Fairview to join the Fire Department. The Fairview Fire Department consists of 3 Engine companies, 1 Truck company and 1 Rescue company. Volunteer firefighters are expected to be on call to respond to emergency calls for long periods of time, and are summoned to the fire station when their services are needed. They are also expected to attend other non-emergency duties as well (training, fundraising, town events, department events and equipment maintenance, etc.). The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department values diversity in the workplace. However down the road, all members of the Fairview Fire Department must attend a State Certified Fire Academy and complete the Firefighter I Course. All active members of the department also attend continuing education courses, including Firefighting Safety, Firefighter II, CPR, and the Incident Command System (ICS-100 to 800). If you can’t visit a detainee at the detention centers, you can reduce their isolation by writing to them regularly. Volunteers who can correspond in Spanish are especially needed.

By visiting detainees at the jails or detention centers, you can provide much-needed contact with the outside world, emotional support, and a path to other services. Volunteers who speak fluent Spanish are especially needed.

Help assemble packets of pens, paper, cards, envelopes, stamps, and calling cards that meet the rules of the detention centers. Volunteers can organize events with their organizations to contribute to this effort.

Help set up, manage, and break down adoption events every Saturday from 1–7 p.m. This role allows you to interact with the community and talk with people about cats, making a significant impact on their adoption journey.

If you have a car, you can assist by driving foster cats to spay/neuter appointments, adoption events, and new foster homes. This is a crucial role that helps ensure the well-being of the cats in our care.

Assist with fundraising, public relations, and other administrative activities to support the organization's mission. Help organize events like the LiLY Legacies Awards Night gala.
