Join IHartHarvest, Inc. for the Fall Potato Harvest to help pick potatoes that will be distributed to those in need. Volunteers will work in groups to harvest potatoes on Saturdays and Sundays, contributing to the fight against local hunger.

Kutztown Fire & Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization that proudly serves Kutztown Borough, Maxatawny Township, Greenwich Township, Kutztown University, and beyond. Kutztown Fire & Rescue covers roughly 40 square miles of "first due" coverage area and has seen an uptick in mutual aid requests from the surrounding departments in and out of Berks County. We are always looking for persons willing to serve as firefighters, medical responders, and administrative support personnel. (interior firefighter, exterior firefighter, auxiliary member or Junior firefighter) Junior firefighters may join at the age of 14. 18 years of age or older: Must be able to preform inhuman maneuvers and any task at any given time; ability to maintain professional composure under extremely intense pressures where you are the difference between another human living or dying; must be able to be committed at incident scenes for undetermined amounts of time, forgoing meals, bathroom breaks, and all "necessities" that you are accustomed to. The ETFD offers a number of opportunities to serve your community through the volunteer fire service, and much of it has nothing to do with firefighting. The fire service is not for everyone. You need more than just a desire to help people in order to succeed. You need courage, dedication, assertiveness, and an open mind to learn new skills and face new challenges. You will also need to have the time for training sessions, meetings, emergency responses, and various other functions. There are many other ways to assist your community through the ETFD. These include EMS/Medical services, Junior Firefighting, Recruitment, Fund-Raising, Record-Keeping, Financial Services, Building Renovations, and Community Service. The personal rewards and satisfaction received from the volunteer fire service give every member a sense of accomplishment when a goal is achieved. The brotherhood and teamwork exemplified within the fire service helps individuals develop and maintain friendships. The information learned through the fire service will also help you achieve your goals both educationally and professionally. Interpret the Homestead and grounds to visitors of all ages, providing them with insights into the historical significance of the site.

Assist in live history demonstrations and other special events held at the site, engaging with the public and enhancing their experience.

Help research topics of interest to the site, contributing to the depth and accuracy of historical information presented.

Live-In Volunteer Firefighter: The Wyomissing Fire Department provides a Live-In Program for volunteer individuals to be part of the organization and provide a service to the community. The Program is open to mature, responsible, and professional individual.
