Every Saturday is a produce party! Music plays and the vibe is rich as our volunteers prepare the weekly harvest. Then our fleet of volunteer drivers bring that beautiful produce the last mile to our Grassroots Grocers, the community leaders who know who needs it most.

Organize and host free community distribution events in NYC and surrounding areas. Volunteers with access to large venues like gymnasiums or meeting halls are encouraged to help us set up these impactful events.

Trail Maintainers are advanced, independent nature volunteers who receive training, tools, and resources to care for their adopted trail. They learn plant identification, invasive nonnative plant management, corridor pruning, and trail maintenance skills. Trail Maintainers contribute to the stewardship and maintenance of nature trails and the overall health of diverse natural areas citywide.

Provides student support by participating in the Chair Yoga Dance class, helping disabled individuals by providing a visual picture of the postures and movements. Assists with partner yoga, translating instructions from English to Spanish, and helping with props and equipment setup and storage.

Participate in weekday and weekend events from March to November to help make NYC greener. Activities include planting, maintaining community gardens, and engaging with local communities.

Provides outreach support by posting flyers on various notice boards in the community. Flexible hours during the planning stages and throughout the session.

Engage in weekday events from March to November to restore and maintain parks and gardens across NYC. Volunteers participate in planting, cleaning, and community events to enhance urban green spaces.

Support the advocacy team by helping with administrative tasks, organizing workshops, and providing resources to families. Volunteers will learn about special education laws and advocacy strategies.

Fill a local fridge with food you've bought, brownies you've baked, or a decorated bag lovingly filled with healthy snacks. Every act of kindness makes an impact.

Participate in our College March event where volunteers will support students as they celebrate their college applications. Volunteers will help organize the event, cheer on students, and provide encouragement.

Provides administrative and facilities support such as setting up studios, taking attendance before classes, and organizing and storing equipment after classes. Time commitment is 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM on Saturdays.

Provide needs-based assessments, feasibility analysis, and consulting for nonprofits to ensure they have the digital tools needed to maximize their impact.

Join us for WHEELSUP events where volunteers will engage with students in various activities aimed at preparing them for college and career success. Volunteers will mentor, provide support, and participate in interactive sessions.

Transport fresh produce from the Hunts Point Market to various distribution sites. Volunteer drivers play a crucial role in ensuring food reaches those in need efficiently.

Engage with students and community members during our Community Conversations events. Volunteers will facilitate discussions, provide support, and help create a welcoming environment for open dialogue.

Develop strategies to support recruitment and retention of members, including identifying ideal database and tech platforms. This role is great for those with experience in audience/membership development.
