Nature: Under the direct supervision of a company officer, perform such duties and activities as may be required by the codes and ordinances, state statutes, and Standard Operating Guidelines of the fire department. The following are duties which may be required by a member of CFD but may not be limited to: A. Attend training courses, read and study assigned materials related to fire prevention, suppression, and rescue. B. Respond to alarms according to the department operating guidelines; lay and connect hose, maneuver nozzles, and direct fire streams; raise and climb ladders, use extinguishers, protective breathing apparatus, and forcible entry tools. C. Ventilate buildings by opening windows and skylights or by cutting holes in roofs and floors. D. Perform rescue operations. E. Perform salvage operations by placing salvage covers, sweeping water, and removing debris. F. Participate in drills and attend courses in fire prevention, suppression, and rescue techniques. G. Perform assigned inspection duties. H. Drive and operate fire apparatus under special instructions and limited conditions. I. Relay instructions, orders, and information and give locations of alarms to responding companies. J. Perform general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire department apparatus, equipment, and property. K. Perform related work as required. | Requirements: 1.
